Product Development Associate

LOCATION: Vancouver, BC, Canada    CLOSES: May 10, 2018


The Product Development Associate plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement activities for current Augurex products as well as the development of Augurex pipeline products.  This position reports to senior R&D personnel under the supervision of the Senior Director, Biomarker Development.


  • Research and understand the role of 14-3-3η in arthritides and the utility and design of the Augurex JOINTstat® family of pipeline products
  • Proficient with running and troubleshooting the JOINTstat® test
  • Execute on experimental plans for new product development, analyze results and establish experimental next steps to advance product design
  • Research and provide input into design requirements for new products
  • Troubleshoot test results and design challenges as required
  • Collate, analyze and summarize data and write reports
  • Collate and manage test results, and support preparation of manuscripts using statistical analysis (GraphPad Prism) and graphic design software (Adobe)
  • Other related activities as assigned


  • Minimum educational requirement of B.Sc Degree in biological sciences with ≥ 2 years related industry/laboratory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Assay development expertise is desirable
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and technical writing skills
  • Creative problem solver with ability to address issues quickly and independently with judgement to escalate when needed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
  • High level of initiative with strong time management and organizational skills
  • A can-do, winning attitude and a strong supportive team player
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving organization and embrace a culture of growth and change
  • Ability to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Knowledge or experience with GLP, GMP work desired
