SPINEstat® expands Augurex’s biomarker-informed diagnostic portfolio into axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and has the potential to bring a novel first-in-class diagnostic to this area of significant unmet medical need.

SUMMARY
The Manager, Information Technology Systems, will play a pivotal role in supporting our commercial and operational success as a leader in field of autoimmune diagnostics. The successful candidate will bring strong IT skills and technical expertise coupled with a solutions-oriented and creative mindset. The Manager, IT Systems will lead and optimize Augurex’s information technology systems, including working with the Company’s managed services provider and overseeing the implementation of hardware, software and infrastructure solutions to support the company’s commercial growth. Additionally, the Manager, IT Systems will work with colleagues in Quality, Regulatory and Compliance to ensure systems and processes algin with regulatory requirements. The Manager, IT Systems will manage the IT budget ensuring costs and programs align with the Company’s objectives.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Administration & IT Operations
- Act as the primary IT resource for Augurex, providing hands-on support for Office 365 services, Entra ID (Azure AD), SharePoint, and Windows desktop environments.
- Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability to meet business needs.
- Manage day-to-day IT operations, including resolving escalated technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to employees, and delivering timely solutions.
- Handle provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts, devices, and software to support smooth onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure IT systems align with operational and research objectives.
Vendor and Service Provider Management
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Managed Service Provider (MSP), ensuring clear communication, timely escalations, and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Provide direction and oversight to the MSP for co-managed Level 1 support, ensuring alignment with Augurex’s IT policies, standards, and objectives.
- Manage relationships with SaaS vendors, overseeing contract renewals, license optimization, and vendor performance.
- Evaluate new technology solutions and vendors to support company growth while maintaining cost-effectiveness and performance.
IT Security and Compliance
- Implement and enforce IT security best practices across all systems, leveraging Office 365 and Entra ID features to protect sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, such as GDPR, and implement appropriate controls to safeguard company information.
- Conduct regular security reviews, apply patches, and monitor vulnerabilities to maintain a secure IT environment.
- Work with the MSP to address security risks and ensure regular updates and backups are performed.
Strategic IT Planning
- Develop and execute an IT roadmap that supports Augurex’s evolving needs as an early-stage biotech company.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate processes, and reduce manual inefficiencies using scalable technology solutions.
- Plan and implement IT projects, including system upgrades, new software rollouts, and security initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Provide insights into emerging IT trends and recommend strategies to ensure systems remain modern, secure, and effective.
User Support, Training, and Documentation
- Collaborate with the MSP to ensure employees receive prompt and effective support for Level 1 issues, escalating more complex problems as needed.
- Deliver direct support for advanced issues and critical system needs, maintaining continuity for business and research operations.
- Create and maintain accessible documentation for IT systems, policies, and procedures to support employee self-service and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct onboarding and training sessions to help staff maximize the use of tools such as Office 365, SharePoint, and internal systems.
Continuous Improvement & Adaptability
- Actively identify and implement technology solutions that enhance productivity, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor IT system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvements in tools and processes.
- Adapt to the changing needs of a growing company, balancing hands-on technical responsibilities with strategic IT planning.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Industry Expertise:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical certifications and experience.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in the biotech or pharma sector, including experience managing IT solutions in early-stage, biotech, or high-tech companies.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing cloud and on-premise infrastructures, data management platforms, and networking technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with Office 365 administration, Entra ID (Azure AD) for SSO and MFA, SharePoint Online, and Windows desktop environments.
- Hands-on experience with software deployment, system upgrades, hardware lifecycle management, and IT support systems.
IT Security and Compliance:
- Expertise in IT security infrastructure, vulnerability management, and compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, GDPR, or ISO.
- Skilled in leveraging built-in security features in Office 365 and Azure AD to protect sensitive data.
Vendor and Service Provider Management:
- Experience successfully implementing and leveraging outsourcing strategies, including managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing technology budgets.
- Proven ability to engage Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and SaaS vendors to ensure service quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
IT Project Management and Strategy:
- Experience managing IT hardware and software projects in Windows and cloud-based environments, with a track record of delivering on schedule and within budget.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall, and tools such as Jira, ClickUp, and MS Project. Proven ability to establish and execute IT strategies that align with evolving business needs.
