Prevent Permanent Joint Damage with 14-3-3η Testing

14-3-3eta (η) is a joint-specific biomarker which predicts Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) development in patients with joint pain and assists with early diagnosis. The 14-3-3η blood test can identify RA earlier than traditional blood tests alone, identifying 21% of early RA patients and 67% of established RA patients who test negative in RF and anti-CCP blood tests. The 14-3-3η test also serves a critical role in monitoring your patient’s response to treatment, as 14-3-3η levels are modifiable and directly related to disease activity.

Quest RA Panels:

These 14-3-3η panels are designed to diagnose seropositive and seronegative RA and stratify patients for risk of joint destruction and/or radiographic progression. After diagnosis of RA, the 14-3-3η standalone test is intended as a monitoring biomarker to determine disease activity and effectiveness of treatment.

IdentRA®

The IdentRA® test panel can identify Rheumatoid Arthritis earlier than traditional blood tests alone by combining 14-3-3η protein with rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP). The 14-3-3η protein identifies 21% of early RA and 67% of established RA patients who test negative for RF and anti-CCP blood tests.

ANA IFA Cascade with IdentRA®

The ANA IFA Cascade with IdentRA® test panel aids in differential diagnosis for the 8 most common rheumatic diseases. Specimens with positive results for antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) are subsequently tested for a series of disease-specific autoantibodies in cascade tiers. The first tier focuses on autoantibodies associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and mixed connective tissue disease; the second tier detects autoantibodies seen in Sjogren Syndrome, progressive systemic sclerosis and polymyositis; and the third tier includes markers of the limited form of systemic sclerosis and neuropsychiatric SLE. This screen also includes markers of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

14-3-3η stand-alone test

14-3-3η is a joint-derived, proinflammatory mediator that is implicated in the joint erosion process and pathogenesis of RA. Serum 14-3-3η is elevated in both early and established RA and serves as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker, even in seronegative RA. 14-3-3η levels are closely related to disease activity and can assist with treatment monitoring and determining risk of radiographic progression.
